Sweating at high temperatures and low humidity stimulates your cardiovascular system and blood circulation as well as promoting the purification process and strengthening the body's own defence function.
In the parlour sauna you will find three tiered benches for sitting and lying down. The higher you climb, the higher the temperatures.
Depending on the season, various infusions take place in our sauna world, such as the flowery 7-dwarf infusion, the cold infusion, the Titanic infusion in which we melt an entire block of ice for you or our Altenau beer infusion. Be curious.
Recommended use
You can spend time in our parlour sauna sitting or lying down. Regular sauna users can sweat for up to 20 minutes. We recommend that sauna beginners only stay in the sauna for 8-10 minutes so that the body slowly gets used to the hot temperatures. Before each visit to the sauna, you should take a shower and then cool down. You can do this under a cold experience shower, in our Kneipp basin or at our ice fountain. Afterwards, we recommend that you cover up and rest in our tepidarium for at least 15 minutes. To achieve the greatest health benefits, you can repeat up to three sauna sessions following this procedure.
Tip
Our sauna infusions are particularly effective for the mind and skin when combined with a soothing classic massage or facial cosmetics. The parlour sauna is not suitable for people with arterial circulatory disorders, general cardiovascular weakness, infectious diseases or flu-like infections.
Temperature: approx. 60 °C
Humidity: approx. 40-50%.

The Harz poachers were in the best of health. They brought their bodies into top form and sweated themselves healthy in mild temperatures. Do as they did!
The gentle temperatures combined with natural spruce needle aromas allow you to stay longer, are beneficial to your health and skin care. Our Wilderer sauna is gentler on your circulation and therefore also suitable for sauna beginners or guests who do not tolerate strong heat so well.
There are daily changing sauna infusions, such as the "Harzer Urgestein-Aufguss", the "Wilde Kräuter-Aufguss" or the fir and lime scented "Frische Wald-Aufguss".
Recommended use
In our Wilderer sauna you stay in a seated position. As a rule, a longer stay of up to 30 minutes is completely harmless.
Before using the sauna, you should take a shower in our adventure shower, dry off and then enter the sauna and cool down in the Kneipp basin or at our ice fountain. Afterwards, we recommend that you cover up and rest in our tepidarium.
Tip
In combination with our gentle aromatic oil massage or a facial cosmetic, you will experience complete relaxation and a soft skin feeling.

Many healing powers have always been attributed to fragrant plants.
This sauna, which is gentle on the circulation, conveys a feeling of well-being. The slow warming of the body stimulates the purification process and increases the body's own defence function. The various herbs release their active ingredients into the environment. This has a positive effect on your health in many ways.
In our herbal mixtures, we use eucalyptus, whose essential oil is said to have an antiseptic, expectorant and cooling effect, which in turn is said to protect against the onset of a cold.
We also use lavender, which has a positive effect on sleep disorders and nervous strain; lemon balm, whose tannins and mineral salts fight viruses; rosemary, which is said to have a mood-lifting and invigorating effect, or lemongrass as a refreshing citrus scent.
Recommended use
We recommend 3 passes in our herbal steam bath, each lasting 15-20 minutes. After each session you should relax in our tepidarium for about 30 minutes. As in the other saunas, you should take a short shower before your sauna session and then cool down. The herbal steam bath is the ideal introduction to a soothing sauna day, as hotter saunas are much better tolerated afterwards.
Tip
In combination with our full body massage Roligio® Healing Power of Wild Herbs you can strengthen your immune system.
Temperature: approx. 45 °C
Humidity: approx. 80 - 100 %.

Enjoy the spicy herbal scent of hay from the natural meadows of the Harz mountains in a cosy hay room or "Kraxenofen" for 2 people and experience its metabolism-stimulating, pain-relieving and cramp-relieving effects.
In various mountain regions, hay was brought down to the valley in backpack baskets called "Kraxen" for many centuries. On sunny days, the scent of fresh hay was particularly intense and healing at the same time. These natural healing powers are also used in our Heustüble.
Duration: approx. 20 minutes
Price: € 25,00 per person
Recommended use
During the treatment you sit in heated seating niches, where a special hay flower cushion serves as a base, and in front of "Kraxen" (indentations in the wall) filled with fragrant hay. The warm hay steam rises through a special cloak and the back, shoulders and pelvis are warmed. Due to the gentle heating, the typical smell of hay is released and can now be absorbed through the respiratory tract and the skin.
Tip
The hay bath is recommended for heart and circulation problems, shoulder and neck tension, aching limbs and colds. It is not suitable for grass pollen allergy sufferers!
Alternating foot baths according to J. S. Kneipp
"Water is life", Sebastian Kneipp already knew. By moving the fountain lever to the right, cold water flows and warm water flows to the left.
Start with both feet in the warm basin and switch to the cold basin after about 5 minutes. Remain there for about 10 seconds. Depending on your own well-being, you can repeat this process 1-3 times from warm to cold - end with cold.
The warm-cold interaction of the footbath harmonises body, mind and soul, revitalises tired feet, stimulates the circulation and exercises the blood vessels. It acts on the organs of the pelvis as well as on the nasopharynx.
Kneipp basin
Experience a very special foot reflexology massage that activates the body's self-healing powers. Walk in a stork's step through a pool of water lined with loose stones. Make sure that you lift your feet out of the water with each step and slowly submerge them again. An invigorating bubble of water accompanies you through a light barrier at the entrance.
The cold water stimulates the metabolism, supports blood circulation and helps to harden the body.
Tip
Not suitable for guests with arterial complaints, open wounds and flu-like infections.
Temperature: approx. 38 °C
Humidity: approx. 20%
06.30 - 24.00 h
Heated benches and heated loungers, walls and floors made of stone or ceramic have a direct and beneficial effect on the body through their gentle heat radiation. Enjoy our pleasantly warm tepidarium and relax on our heated loungers in a wonderfully mental ambience that invites you to dream. Let yourself be enchanted with relaxing music from the headphones.
The tepidarium can also be described as a regeneration room. Here you can recover after a long illness or prevent colds. The mild temperature and low humidity strengthen the immune system without stressing the circulation.
Please use your towel as a support for your body and neck.
The duration of stay is unlimited in this temperature range.
Experience showers
In this special shower you will experience a choice of tropical warm or cold effects with soothing, stimulating light and scent effects with sounds of nature. Choose, for example, between country rain, tropical rain or mist.
Cosy Wall Shower
Experience a warm shower wall with a well-tempered "waterfall" flowing down it. You stand with your back leaning against the wall and are gently massaged by the water flowing down. This process can be repeated as often as you like.
The high salt content in this unique grotto is formed by brine, which constantly drips over the brushwood clumps on the walls outside. A special treat for your respiratory organs.
Recommended use
After a visit to the sauna or simply to relax in between, enter our fresh-air outdoor brine grotto, close your eyes and breathe deeply.
Tip

Duration: approx. 20 minutes / Price:
1 oxygen therapy incl. vitamins € 25.00
6 treatments incl. vitamins € 140,00

Drinking fountain "For the love of your health".
Refresh yourself with well-chilled Harz drinking water at our invigorating drinking fountain.
Ice fountain "Prickeln Pur" (pure tingling)
Rub your heated body with the ice flakes from the ice fountain after a steam or sauna bath. This process can be repeated as often as you like.
It is precisely the shock-like meeting of heated skin and ice, which slowly melts, that makes up the typical sauna feeling. The blood vessels in the upper layer of the skin contract reflexively and then expand again with a pleasant tingling sensation. The cold shock after the sauna not only strengthens the blood circulation, but also stimulates the metabolism.
Take a proper sauna:
- take at least 2 hours
- 2 sauna towels, bathing shoes
- Do not enter the sauna in swimwear
- Take off jewellery or watches, as these absorb the heat very strongly.
- a stomach that is not too full
- Drink plenty of fluids before going to the sauna (preferably still mineral water).
- After a warm shower, dry off thoroughly and with warm feet, enter our sauna world.
- Please do not forget to put a towel underneath, as body sweat damages the wood.
- Depending on your personal tolerance, about 8 to 15 minutes of sweating and feeling good.
- For the first sauna session, we recommend starting on the lowest bench and moving up one bench after approx. 5 minutes.
- if you have lain down in the sauna, then sit up for the last 1-2 minutes to stabilise your circulation
- Cool down at the ice fountain - you should start far from the heart, i.e. first cool down the arms and legs, then the torso and the entire body.
- Fill up with fresh air in our outdoor brine grotto - breathe out hard and breathe in calmly
- Refresh yourself in the Kneipp pool or our alternating foot baths
- Take a shower in one of our adventure showers
- Rest and relax in the tepidarium (relaxation area) for about twice as long as the sauna session lasted.
- Between the next sauna session, we recommend a soothing full-body massage in our RoLigio® SPA.
- the 2nd and 3rd sauna session is the same as the first - we recommend no more than 3 sauna sessions in a row
- in the saunas we recommend that you do not talk too much, as the air contains only as much oxygen as at 2500m altitude and talking interferes with both your and the other guests' relaxation
- only after you have finished your sauna visit should you replenish the amount of water you have lost (preferably with still mineral water)
- Drink between sauna sessions to reduce the excretion of harmful substances and thus the cleansing effect.
We do not recommend sauna use to guests with the following medical conditions until they have consulted their doctor:
- fever or a cold, acute inflammation of the internal organs
- acute asthma, epilepsy
- severe heart and circulatory diseases, high blood pressure, varicose veins
- acute migraine, cancer, hyperthyroidism
