If we are not careful, in a few years our world will no longer be as we know it today. That is why people are becoming more and more aware of the importance of separating waste, recycling objects or using public transport...

The earth is also close to our hearts and that is why we at Romantischer Winkel focus on climate-friendly measures to minimise any environmental impact.

RoWi plants future

With our project "RoWi plants future", we would like to take another step towards a more sustainable future. Our goal is to reforest up to 20,000 trees in our local forests every year.

Block-type thermal power station

WE GENERATE OUR OWN ENERGY!

A CHP is a modular system for generating electrical energy and heat. It uses the principle of combined heat and power generation.

With its output, we are able to generate approx. 417,166 kWh of our own electricity annually, of which approx. 3,500 kWh are fed into the public grid after self-consumption. In this way alone, the hotel avoids around 230 tonnes of CO² per year.

49.3% of the additional energy purchased from external suppliers counts as green electricity.

Regional food

WE RELY ON FAIR TRADE!

Some of the food we use comes from local shops or producers in the region.

These include meat and sausages, fresh fruit and vegetables, home-grown herbs, bread and baked goods, honey and home-distilled spirits.

Products such as sugar and tea also come from fair trade.

Modern technology

ENERGY EFFICIENCY IS A TOP PRIORITY!

In addition to the hotel's own CHP unit, our building services include a modern cold room system whose waste heat keeps the hotel driveway and the terrace area by the outdoor pool free of snow and ice in winter.

In addition, an energy-saving ventilation system for the kitchen, SPA and restaurant with heat recovery as well as adiabatic cooling provides air conditioning with the help of evaporative cooling.

Our high-efficiency pumps in the heating rooms effect heating power as needed with their automatic control.

Environment protection

WE VALUE SUSTAINABILITY!

The entire lighting technology in the house consists of modern LED technology, which allows us to achieve up to 60% electricity savings in the lighting area.

In addition, there are three e-charging stations for electric cars and other electrically powered vehicles in the resort car park (approx. 120 metres from the hotel). For e-bikes and e-scooters, we offer charging facilities directly at the hotel.

In addition, we pay meticulous attention to low-consumption operation when purchasing new appliances such as washing machines, etc.

Viabono® Certification

WE HAVE BEEN AWARDED!

The Romantischer Winkel was officially confirmed as a particularly environmentally friendly hotel by Viabono®, the sustainability certifier in the travel and tourism industry, and thus the designation as a "climate-friendly hotel".

With the help of an extensive evaluation procedure, not only all water, natural gas and electricity consumption, but also the number of overnight stays and meals, the number and origin of all drinks, the proportion of regional and fair-trade food, as well as the amount of detergent and waste were recorded. In many areas, we are significantly better than comparable hotels in the same star category.
